Hi There,
I am a little confused. I have RAID 1 setup on my TS-219, and wanted to check that mirroring was actually working on the drives. So I have USB Hard Disk Docking Station, and have popped the drives in the docking station, only to find at my laptop (running XP Pro) does not automatically show the drives in windows explorer, so I cannot access or view the content of the drive.
The PC registers that a the USB Docking station is connected and I can see it in Device Manager, but I cannot see the contents.
Any idea why?
Cheers,
Smiling

Hi smiling,
In default, your harddisk would be formatted as Ext3 file system format.
It will not able be supported by windows XP pro in default.
If your usb driver is working fine.
You can use some tool like Explore2fs for accessing ext2 and ext3 filesystems on windows.
You can download it from here.
http://www.chrysocome.net/explore2fs
Explore2fs is a GUI explorer tool for accessing ext2 and ext3 filesystems. It runs under all versions of Windows and can read almost any ext2 and ext3 filesystem.
It is read only tool.

Hi Jacky,
Thanks a lot for your advice, I thought it might be something related to the way it's formatted. I'll look into the tools you've suggested. Much appreciated!
