TS-859 Pro only sees 4 of 8 disks

Post by madcap76 »

Just received a new one yesterday and updated to latest firmware. We are using the recommended Hitatchi 2TB drives (8 of them). When we booted the device on the console we made a RAID6 array and it did create one, but only with 4 of the 8 disks. We wanted to create one with all 8 disks (6 usable in RAID 6) but the system is only seeing 4 of the 8 in all menus. Even when we choose to reset the device to factory defaults and reboots, the RAID 6 in 4 drives is still there after.

Any ideas on how we can get it to see all 8 drives?

Thanks in advance.

One more thing - the recognized disks are 1-4 and it doesn't see disks 5-8, so it doesn't seem to be a disk malfunction issue.

Looks like a hardware failure, maybe something got broken during transport because they normally test them completely before shipping.

Best to take it back to the dealer I guess.
