I have a Qnap NAS setup with some file shares. I connect my lightroom to photos stored on the NAS via a mounted network volume.
Issue: When I browse certain the share certain folders will be empty when viewed in finder, but I can see the files when I am in my NAS web interface, or from other laptops on the network.
I have the same problem with both AFP and SMB.
Issue persists even if I reboot the NAS
I have noticed that if I disconnect/reconnect the share with a different username/password then the connections will restore. Or if I manually make another mount from automount.
So it seems to be something specific to the connection I am reading from because multiple connections/mounts on the same system with the same username/password show different results.
Any ideas? This is really really frustrating so far because it'll work fine for days then randomly it happens over and over again.
TS-253 Pro with latest firmware.

Re: SMB/AFP mounted network shares missing files/folders
Sorry, can not give you any help, I have the exact same problem here.
I am using a TVS-871T with Thunderbolt using AFP, latest QTS Software 4.2.3.
I guess you have not found a solution yet!?
Strange that not more people are reporting this problem, I am unable to use Lightroom!!
