Files not showing up

Files not showing up

Connected to a TVS-871 on Macs via SMB. (Sierra 10.1.2.4)

I can clearly see four files in a subfolder. The person two chairs away cannot. We ejected the drive and they were still not there after remount.
So, created a new folder within the subfolder. Boom. Four files showed up.

SO frustrating. Hopefully just something I have configured wrong?
