Still very slow index

Post by zarickberger »

Creating the index when opening a folder is very slow and take several minutes instead of a fraction of a second.
What could be the problem?

Model? Firmware version? All folders or just some? Approximate number and type of files? Samba share or something else? If Samba, which version?

Hello,

I'm using a new MacBook Pro with an Thunderbolt QNAP adapter to connect to the QNAP QSW-M408-4C via the QNAP 10 Gbit TS-h973AX Switch.

On the one side I use big video files that work ok. Not at 10 Gbit, but around 250 Mbit.
On the other side I use it for files, with thousands of folders and files. There is sometimes takes 10 minutes juste to show the index. And many times copies fail.

I use:
smb://RAID5._smb._tcp.local
as the protocol

Qnap just seems to push out useless hardware and leave the customers hang out to dry. Not a fan of this company and it's products.
