Yeah - recognized and commented before, too. AFIAK, this has been changed in the netatalk sosurce tree (outside of QNAP) already.

Anyone got a confirmed fix for this?

Just updated my TS-409 Pro's firmware to 3.3.0 Build 0924T and am seeing this message pop up on my mac every other hour or so. Must be something amiss in the new firmware as all was fine on the previous version (3.2.0 Build 0622).

I just got the message too. I have a freshly created share folder that's a sub-directory of another share. I connected via OSX finder and after lots of bdb crunching, got the message. My system:

I am seeing this message for the first time after upgrading my TS 409 Pro to the lastest 3.3.0 build 0924T firmware last week.

I haven't worked out what triggers it, though it seems to be when I come back after a long period of inactivity, eg in the morning after the NAS has probably been asleep. I'm seeing it on 2 Macs, one running Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.4, the other running Leopard 10.5.8. Both are mounting the NAS via AFP automount.

I've rebooted the NAS, and both machines, but the message comes back.

I've send a PM to one of the forum mods about this issue, so let's hope there's a reply from QNAP soon!

Dear All,

Actually, the triggered message is not belong to NAS system, but sent by Mac OS.
According to your report, the message might happed on following circumstances.

1. delete a share folder when Finder connected
2. file transferring
3. after upgraded firmware
4. change Bonjour services and press APPLY when Finder is connected to NAS
5. create folders with Finder connected
6. Time Machine Backup

We think the trigger might relate to Finder for Mac, but we need identify the root cause on user's NAS system. If you are available to offer your NAS for verifying, please send me the private message with your NAS link, login account (admin group) and available time period. We will check on your NAS in one day. Thanks for your assistance.
