QSync 5.0.1.0319 works with TS-439 Pro. QSync 5.0.2.0927 don't

Post by rvoith »

Hi,

After my QSync was updated to 5.0.2.0927, it somehow entered an infinite Login/Logout loop (stays logged in for a second or so, then logs out). It looks like this in the log (note, all blurred Users and Columns are all equal):
2021-10-28_22-37-35.png
When I uninstalled 5.0.20927 and reinstalled the older 5.0.1.0319 version, reconfigurred all the connections, it worked fine again.

By the way, the TS-439 is running SMB2.1 (I have verified this via PuTTY and the smb2status command)

With the IP's censored .. I hope those are private range and not public IP's

You could also ask QNAP if there is any known issues with compatibility (as the TS-439 Pro is long EOL, you probably won't like the answer)

Yes, all good with the IPs as those belong to me :-)

I just felt for informing about the scenario, as I see others have had similar issues. In some posts, there has been suggestions about downgrading SMB3 to SMB2.1. In my case, the old TS-439 is running SMB2.1.

Something has changed in the QSync client from 5.0.1.0319 to 5.0.2.0927, at least when communicating with my TS-439.

In my case, with an old and EOL NAS, the new QSync version simply breaks what has been working very well for years. Downgrading to 5.0.1.0319 solved the problem :-)

Confirmed. The problem is that 5.0.2 is broken with many devices. I have a 459pro+. Same thing. Downgraded to 5.0.1 and it works. Irritating.

Same thing here with my beloved TS-459 Pro. Tried on 3 PC's, the last one being Windows 11. But this one also exhibits the same problem, so I'll be reverting back to 5.0.1.0139 on this Windows 11 PC as well.

I would still like to see this problem fixed though ...

the only way it gets fixed is if someone reports the issue to QNAP. posting issues here wont get it resolved unfortunately.

The reason I thought I could not report it is because my trusted TS-459 Pro, with 6-year old 4 WD 6T disks, is itself 12 years old (but still working fine) !

It just got a latest firmware update with a security fix.

And the reason I now add this reply is because I've just upgraded to the latest Qsync, 5.0.3.1125, and this one appears to have fixed the problem we all experienced with 5.0.2.0927. I'm using Qsync only on Windows 10 (3 systems).

Cheers,

Peter
