not a good idea to forward telnet/SSH to the outside, unless you want to get hacked (or data deleted)
what is it you want to achieve ?

You seem to have uPNP activated in your router. Definitely turn that feature off. It's been addressed many times over in various threads here in the forum how dangerous that is. It opens up your LAN to the internet and anyone can step in and compromise you.kyrusdemnati wrote:the ios apps work fine but when i try to go to the url it doesnt work
If you want to access your servers from the outside, goto myqnapcloud or use dedicated SW like KeyBox and open only specific individual ports on your router for apps with proper 2factor authentication activated.

I understand that you want life to be simple, and regretfully - it isn't.
Can you log on to myqnapcloud - or can't you?

I've been having similar issues, i'm able to log into my QNAP via cloudlink, however half the apps i would like to use are blocked through cloudlink..
i have run the auto set up but i get the below error http://imgur.com/RffQhBQ . i have been told it's just the ports i need to forward. but i have attempted to do this, but have had no luck :/
i'd prefer to not have to use cloudlink

will VPN allow me access to the desktop-like GUI? ( Sorry Networking stuff is not my strong point! )

Once you get into the NAS via Cloudlink, you can just run Browser Station. It will give you access to everything on your LAN in a safe way.
