Turn off QNAP NAS over the Internet

Post by wersianer »

Hello,

I have re-registered here in the forum, because I'm looking for a question:
Can I turn off the QNAP NAS over the Internet?
After initial difficulties, I managed to gain access via maqnapcloud. However, I miss there a comparable shutdown option - as it is offered to me on the internal page -.
Reason: About Wake on LAN, I can turn on the device remotely, but not turn off.
Can someone help me?

One way is through the QManager app. I have it on my Android phone but I believe there is also an iOS version for iPhone.

Hello scolumbo,

Unfortunately, the app is not compatible with my Android phone.
Are you sure that you can turn off the device with this app?
I would have preferred a solution over the myqnapcloud.
If I do not get any further here, I just have to give up the opportunity :( .
Thanks anyway for your quick reply :!:

once a connection with the nas is established (best via VPN) just use the web gui to shut it down

if it is for your phone .. you can also use the qmanager apps

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/qmanage ... 37312?mt=8

Qmanager definitely works. I'ved used it to both restart and shutdown my NAS. It's also useful for monitoring temps, system logs, and other functions remotely. Hopefully, you can get it to work on your phone.

dolbyman and scolumbo thanks for the tips. Sorry, I can not install the Android app. I'm not familiar with VPN and Web GUI. So I have to live with the now-state.

And unfortunately, there is a renewed problem with a non-erasable share link, as it allegedly no longer exists :( .

Maybe I am not so familiar with the shortcuts, but I have access to the QNAP NAS from my browser via the intranet and the IP address with the ability to shut down at home.
Unfortunately, remotely using myqnapcloud does not offer this option.
