Remote access and port forwarding

Post by creakypuppet » Mon Mar 11, 2019 8:08 pm

I have a Qnap ts453a and another server on my internal lan and have an issue connecting to the server remotely.

I have an account with no-ip.com and created a host name but have an issue with the Qnap device.

http://host.jumpto.org:3000 - works as expected, connects to service on server
https://host.jumpto.org:8006 - works as expected, connects to service on server Http://host.jumpto.org - connects to the Qnap which I don’t want

I have only forwarded the 2 ports, 3000 & 8006, so not sure why the Qnap is being shown when a port is not specified

Any suggestions on how to get the QNAP to stop showing? I assume it's something to do with the myQNAPcloud service.

I have not added my no-ip.com account details on the NAS if that makes any difference.

what opens when you goto host.jumpto.org? that should help determine whats happening. take a look at your firewall and make sure port 80 is not being forwarded.
