Post by megaabite » Sat Oct 19, 2019 11:58 am

just switched router to Google WiFi network. myQNAPCloud app recognizes uPnP support. but Status for any of "NAS Web" or "Secure NAS Web" shows "Error".

how can I find what is the "Error"?

maybe google has upnp disabled by default

and you should really think about security if you plan to expose you nas web gui to the open internet

"myQNAPCloud app recognizes uPnP support. "

Was working with previous router. Now not working with Google WiFi. As you can see from log, Plex is able to setup uPnP. Is there perhaps a known incompatibility?

Not sure how to take that. The question was about a problem with QNAP setup of uPnP.

not sure how you didnt get that exposing qnap http and https interface to the plain open internet is a bad idea

look at all recent threads of hacked NAS ..and rethink
this strategy

if you still want to expose your nas (or decide to maybe forward your openvpn server for more secure connection paths) why not do a manual port forward? (check your google wifi manual for a how to)
