Cannot Upload files larger than 4gb to my NAS!

One reason for buying a NAS was so I can upload, remotely, to my NAS, various files/documents etc. I tried to UL a 5GB file but received an error message saying files larger that 4096kb (I seem to remember) are not allowed!! :-0 :x Surely this is some mistake, I hope? I can UL any size of file to my friends Synology NAS, so why not QNAP? I also tried a similar file to my other friends QNAP 251A, but that also failed - WTF?? I hope this is a bug, or can be fixed, or else the 251D is going back, to be replaced with a Synology unit!

Yes, but only over a remote VPN connection as my data is far too valuable to open up the NAS for access from hackers on the internet.
how ?
I've already explained that in the thread.

ok, now I understand
vpn and FileStation, so not by myqnapocloud
for me it would be easier to use mqnapcloud, I do not have external IP so VPN is impossible

What do you mean by myQNAPcloud? Are you using it only as a DDNS-service or are you using CloudLink?
I do not have external IP so VPN is impossible
Do you mean that you have a dynamic public IP or are you behind a CG-NAT? What is the outside IP address reported by your router/firewall? Does it start with 10 (like 10.X.Y.Z)?

Then you're correct, CloudLink is the way to go if you need remote access to the NAS.

This user community is unlikely to be able to solve the 4 GB limitation, please contact Qnap support about that.

Thank you for answering our questions and I hope that support will be able to assist you! Good luck!
