Hi,
If my friend log in into QnapCloud he can see my NAS under Device of Friend but he can't see my NAS in QSync on Windows PC if he search the NAS using his QID.
Doing the same with my QID, I see my NAS in Qcloud under MyDevices and I can also see it in QSync using my QID.
What do I miss?
Thanks
Jens

Be VERY cautious about MyQnapCloud, if you expose your NAS online (via port forwards) you can easily fall victim to ransom attacks.
So please elaborate more what the issue is and explain what you are doing.

Re: Can't find NAS in QSync using QID connection
I would to share folders with my colleague.
1. Account1. I setup account1 for qid-> my device is in "my devices" on -> in qsync client I have found my nas through QID-> ALL OK
2. Account2. Setup on nas app "myqnapcloud"/ access control / added account2 to the list->the shared qnap is on "friend devices"->qsync client doesn't find qnap using qid.
what do you suggest?
forgot this method for security?
what alternatives?
thanks for your assistance

Re: Can't find NAS in QSync using QID connection
Alternative would be non portforwarded cloudlink...
https://www.qnap.com/en/news/2020/qnaps ... cloud-link
Problem with portforwarded sharing "for a buddy/friend/coworker" the whole internet can now attack&exploit that NAS and when there is 0days, you are in for a big surprise
Best would be to leave the file share to sharehosters (dropbox/onedrive/etc)

Re: Can't find NAS in QSync using QID connection
ok. no portforwarding!
QSYNC (WINDOWS 11 and WINDOWS 7) with account invited from proprietary-> doesn't find the qnap
QSYNC PRO (ANDROID) with the same account (invited from proprietary)-> it's OK and it find the qnap!!!
I think there is a bug with qsync for windows for both QNAPQsyncClientWindows-5.0.5.0620.exe and QNAPQsyncClientWindows-5.0.4.1523.exe

I don't know what "invited from proprietary" is supposed to mean.
If you think that any QNAP software has a bug, only QNAP can address and solve it (via ticket)

proprietary is the main account on qnap to enable myqnap link.
qsync work well with proprietary account. It does not with invited accounts...
Submitted a ticket. I'll keep you updated
I want to say a big thank you for your answers!!! I think u are a great resource!!

Re: Can't find NAS in QSync using QID connection
Invited accounts and Qsync?
Never heard that Qsync should work in this way!?
IMHO Qsync is for users which are connected by LAN to the NAS (or this myqnapcloud/-link staff - I do not use in any way).
But at NAS an account to connect is mandatory. And never use an admin account for that.
If login is fixed to a certain user group you know and trust, consider to allow an access using VPN.
User is connected to your LAN in that case and you need to secure devices, users should not access!
Regards

Re: Can't find NAS in QSync using QID connection
Message from assistance:
[As per checking with our Dev Team, this feature is not yet available in QSync Client PC version.
Currently only QID logged-in in the NAS can use the QSync in PC]
So you can't share with friends, coworker...
You should share your qid username and password with your team!
