I recently installed/enabled Security Counselor on my TS-251D NAS, and played around with various security level settings.
From then on, I can no longer access my NAS from outside my local network, instead I get a 1120003 error and/or a timeout error.
The NAS is running flawlessly otherwise, so I have most probably changed or invalidated some setting that I should have left alone.
Any suggestions on how to solve the problem, or how to reset the relevant settings. Or what settings to look for in the first place?
Kind regards
Carl Ejnar Nielsen

Both, actually. I use the standard MyQNAPCloud setup.

Then better get rid of that asap..as said..remove all port forwards and disable upnp (both on router)

I would like to, but will that allow me to 1) let users access my NAS from random Internet locations and 2) me sharing files via links alone (with no need for login from my friends)?

Well no .. that is exactly what will get you hacked .. if you need to share files with friends or family, use dropbox, onedrive, etc
Otherwise find yourself in one of these threads sooner or later:

There is ways how you can share files "from" your NAS, e.g. run a nextcloud from a VM or container (never on the NAS itself as QPKG)

OK, I found out the port forwarding on my router was disabled - simple as that. I have set up the port forwarding that I need (one port only), and will live with the risk for the time being.
