I haven't read this entire thread, but I have had a similar experience.
If you point your browser to [name].myqnapcloud.com from within your LAN, you will probably get the Web Interface of your router. This is because the QNAP DDNS service has configured [name].myqnapcloud.com to point to your router's IP, and because the connection is internal, port forwarding is not done.
What you really need is a VPN which will simulate an external connection. If you go to [name].myqnapcloud.com with a VPN active, your router will forward the connection to your NAS, which is probably what you want.

Nope. That didn't work either. QNAP Cloud is not even getting the setting for the VPN ip.
