myQNAPcloud auto sign out

Hi all,

I recently wanted to setup a VPN through my QNAP that would enable me to browse my files from everywhere.
However 1-2 days after I signed in at myQNAPcloud (most importantly for the dynamic dns feature), my acccount automatically logs out and generate the following errors in my log:

MyQNAPcloud cannot update device status, error code: [16] : see image below:

Now I've setup a dynamic dns using no-ip, but I need to refresh this domain every month so I prefer to use myQNAPcloud.

What is this error 16 and how do I solve it? I've searched all the web but I seem to be the only one with this error....

NAS model, firmware version, ... anything "special" about your Internet connection probably?

Looks like the NAS was not able to determine the current public IP address using a cloud service. Is your Internet connection not always up?

In general, non-plain text myqNAPcloud errors [id] are not user-addressable.

Have an eye in /tmp/.qid.log ... <snip> elements like keys or IP addresses before posting.

In any case, contact QNAP customer service - they will ask for the same information (an need to know your QID of course)

Found the problem! MAC address of both NIC's were corrupt.

So after resetting the MAC's back to the correct ones, all problems were fixed

Thanks for the support, found some helpful things in /tmp/.qid.log
