myQNAPcloud cannot establish a connection (but DNS lookup OK

I've seen another thread with the same error ("The connection cannot be established. Please make sure you have Internet connection and the PPTP VPN server on the NAS is enabled") but the suggested cause was an ISP IP address resolution issue - something to do with a country restricting such things (I'm in Australia). I can access the NAS with a browser and the full domain name "xxxxx.myqnapcloud.com" and it resolves just fine and takes me through so I can log in perfectly/ I have the VPN services enabled and have set my router to allow them through but am now at a loss as to why the MyClousNAS connect app can't get through.

Any pointers gratefully accepted

I am having exactly the same problem and also from Australia (although I have no idea if that is part of the problem). Would also appreciate any advice
