Installing QNAPcloud

Post by Rianbe0419 » Tue Feb 18, 2014 11:57 pm

I went through the setup process and got what I had published in a browser, but when I tried accessing what I had published on the cloud, I received a message saying my server was not responding to connection attempts. I have a TS-469L model

Thanks for your help!

Hello Brian,

Welcome to the QNAP NAS Community Forum!

There is nothing to install when it comes to myQNAPcloud. Troubles are commonly caused by poor routers, not permitting what is called NAT loopback - read you can't establish a TCP connection (i.e. from the browser) to your Internet connection public IP address. Some routers have NAT loopback as a configuration option.

You need to test from another Internet connection, like by using mobile phone (not on WLAN obviously), neighbour, or your preferred fast food or drinks place with WiFi service.

Things can be worse if you are using an Internet connection providing private IPv4 addresses, i.e. in a community drive Internet access, or where IPv6 is rolled out the cheap way using what is called DS-Lite (Dual-Stack lite).

Regards,
-Kurt.
