QSync configuration

So I decided to tinker with this application on my desktop today. My QNAP is at home and I am at work. I put in the name.myqnapcloud.com into the host field, but I noticed that it would never connect due to the name being translated from the ddns QNAP cloud server to the local home network (192.168.#.#). So I thought maybe that QSync would only work on the home network. I gave it another shot, but this time I use another DDNS address I have that is not QNAP related and voila, it worked perfectly.

Now after the beautiful story I just wrote, here is my question, is there away to stop the local IP translation? Ideally I'd like to only use the name.myQNAPcloud.com address, I just can't find anywhere to configure it.
