myQNAPcloud drive mapping (share) names mixed up

Post by robinaspey »

Hi,
have been using the myQNAPcloud service on the 4.0.7 release of QTS. So far it seems to be
behaving itself with a few glitches I wont go into.

However, more often than not, when I access my NAS remotely and select the shares from
myQNAPcloud connect, the share names are confused. For example Archive is mapped to Publications
and similar but everything else is ok.

Its obviously a bug!!! please fix it QNAP! ... maybe it is Windows .. who knows. It happens both when
I access locally via the cloud service i.e. right through the switch and remotely. So the same problem
on two different computers running Windows 7.

Rob: There is nothing "obvious" here at all. You have made some assertions here, but have provided no troubleshooting output here at all. Please login to your NAS via SSH, login as "admin" and run the following command:

Code: Select all

testparm -s -l 2>/dev/null
This will provide a listing of shares on the NAS.

Now lets get a list from your Windows box. From the Command prompt of your Windows machine please type the following command"

Code: Select all

net view \\NAS
(Where \\NAS is the name of your NAS).

Please cut&paste the output of both of these commands back to this message thread, so that we can see what is happening.

Thanks Patrick,
will do as you suggest. At the moment the local share mappings are ok, so this is intermittent.
The remote share names are swapped over the the wrong shares.

Will post the listings.

did not include the share "Books" yet the contents of this folder are down as being inside another
folder "Archives." ...
