Beginner: can"t log in to QTS 4.0.7 turboSystem

Hi and sorry for such a basic question but I can't figure it out

I"m using Ts-220

Bought and set up as per instructions no problem

received email from Qnap asking to confirm account which I did. Can log in to Qnap my cloud service but why won"t the same user name (my email address) and password work when I try to log into QTS desktop or web server ? I receive wrong password or user name message ... but I only have the one.

Have I missed something somewhere?

The cloud account only purpose is the registration and administration of the NAS(s) in the cloud.
