ts420 with 2 hdd wd in raid 1 (2TB each)
firmware 4.0.7
single ethernet port
My qnap is on siteA with an adsl router not able to do any kind of vpn.
In siteB I need to see my nas with a vpn: I'm thinking to use a ddwrt router in siteB and with it, connect the qnap in siteA via vpn.
Will it work?
Thanks in advance

Re: Ddwrt vpn with qnap
Thanks for the help.
Does anywone can sey me if I can create a VPN between my qnap and a router cisco RV180W ?
This router support vpn PPTP and when I try to setup a VPN on the router I see:
This VPN Tunnel will Connect to the Following Peers: Gateway or VPN Clients
Can my qnap be used as a vpn gateway for my cisco router?
Thanks

No. In general, you should avoid any VPN (mis)implementation on QNAP. PPTP is completely insecure and certainly not good even as a workaround.balma01 wrote:Can my qnap be used as a vpn gateway for my cisco router?
I'm gone from this forum till QNAP stop wasting volunteers' time. Get help from QNAP helpdesk instead.

Re: Ddwrt vpn with qnap
OK.
So I need a router that support openvpn.
Please I need a suggestion to buy a cheap wireless router (with 4 gigabit ports) that support openvpn so it can work with my qnap nas.
Thanks again
