Creating New VM error

Post by mbs77 »

I have a TVS-671 4Gb RAM, on QTS 4.3.3, virtualizationstation 3. I create a new VM using Windows10 iso, but when i try to start it i get
"Error an exception has occured (2)." then the whole NAS locks and only solution is a hard reboot!
Anyone seen this before?
i know my router Does NOT support UPnP, do i need to forward ports?

thanks

I would check you CPU, HDD, and Display VM's settings to start with. Did you install the VM Guest Tools?

I have a Win10 VM running just fine on the latest VS 3.x

Hi Trexx, yes allocated 2 cores, memory 2GB, did not see setting for display!, i thought Guest tools could only be installed once windows installation finished?

So are you getting the error DURING the install, or after the install?

Confirming exactly the same issue, trying to setup Ubuntu VM . See attached screenshot

I updated to the latest QNAP 4.3, rebooted several times. Made sure everything is writable.
