No Audio from Windows 10 running on VM3

Post by mdisalvo »

I have installed Windows 10 build 1709 (Fall Creator Update) in VM3 running on my QNAP 470 Pro -16 GB RAM. I set CPU passthrough with 4 cores, assigned 8 GB RAM and 256 GB disk memory, and installed HD VirtIO drivers. Windows 10 is working fine and performances are quite good but no sound from the from speakers connected to NAS jack although I have enabled the emulated Audio device checking the button in VM Setting.
Windows desktop shows the speaker, Windows 10 drivers are loaded and the audio services running but no sound. The device "High Definition Audio" is shown in the Device Manager.
I need support to solve this problem. Thanks.
PS I have already opened a Help-desk ticket

Thanks dolbyman, but I think is a different problem in respect to redirect the audio out.
I already tried HDMI audio but got the same result.

My target is to install JRiver 2.3 on VM running Windows 10 to send HD files (PCM 24 bit - 192kHz and DSD ) to my DAC and Hi-Fi system through my home lan. Up just tried to get audio from the speaker jack and HDMI but no sound.

Have you try use SPICE or use QVM from HD Station?

Apparently they are using the VNC protocol for the web browser hence it does not support the audio transmit.
