More than one virtual switch for VStation needed?

Post by Blinky »

Hi everybody,

I have the Virtualization Station running on a TVS-671 updated to QTS 4.5.4 some days ago.
There are currently three VMs installed, all of which are connected to a virtual switch.
Now I wanted to import another VM, but I always get the message that I should create a virtual switch first?!?

Is there a maximum number of VMs per VirtSwitch? I sure I remember that I had more VMs without problems some time ago.

Thanks in advance...

Ok, I received an answer from the QNAP support and guess what – it was my fault:
The Virtualization Station does not support virtual switches with NAT/DHCP function.
I think I enabled NAT on the vSwitch for testing and didn't remember that. And existing VMs seems to run without problems but you can't create or import new ones...
