Spell Checker?

Post by crambie »

Installed Note Station 2.1 and copied some notes in then noticed there's no spell checker. Tried it in chrome (also in incognito) and ff. Is that true or is there some way of enabling it? Thanks.

Chrome has its own spell checker, though I am unsure if Notes has a built in one. Have you read somewhere that it is a feature, or you just surmising that there is one?

Hi Simon, Yes, of course both chrome and ff have spell checkers but, by default, they don't work in the tinymce editor that it looks like Notes Station uses. So was just checking I hadn't missed anything. You'd think that it's a pretty basic requirement to have a spell checker in a notes app.

Subsequently did some googling and it seems to be trivial to tell tinymce to use the browser's spell checker. Might have a play once I've finished re-skinning it (it's rather ugly). Not tried altering apps on the NAS but if I get anywhere I'll post back for reference.

you could submit a ticket, select category as App Center and Select Notes Station, and then ask for a feature request to add a spell checker into the app. might be worth a try.

Yeah will do. The funny thing is that it looks like the support ticket uses the same edit control and they've enabled browser spell checking in it.
