Multiple Wordpress instances in QTS 5.0?

Post by xxxman999 »

Anybody figured out how to run multiple Wordpress instances in QTS 5.0? When installed WP via the AppCenter, the Wordpress path is now in the system directory (/.qpkg/WordPress/data/web/WordPress).

Prior to QTS 5.0, I normally install WP via App Center and rename the directory. Path was in the Web folder. After that, install another WP instance and configure virtual hosts. We can still do this manually (not install via AppCenter) but permissions are all out of whack even if you configure full permissions access.

What's your experience? Thanks in advance.

never used wordpress qpkg as you were tied to it being updated by qnap. why not install wordpress from here.

https://en-gb.wordpress.org/download/#download-install

install directly into your web folders of choice, setup your databases for each site, then setup wordpress.

Thanks for the responses.
@Toxic17 - Yes, that's what I've been doing for the past year. Various and annoying permission issues since QTS 5.0. FTP permission is also not working right. Maybe just me.
@dolbyman - with security in mind, container is the way to go. Let me read up on Container Station.

permissions with the web folder are usually down to the fact the apache server uses a user of "httpdusr[99]" and not admin.
