Disabling web server side-effects

Post by Inge Jones »

Sorry new user here TS-128. If I disable the web server (seems to be enabled by default) it won't stop me logging into the browser-based admin panel will it?

Sorry for necroposting, but I'm also wondering whether disabling Web Server is detrimental for me, considering it's enabled by default.

I set my NAS in English to share with you the message that I get from the pop-up box whenever I try to disable the Web Server:
Disabling the web server may affect the service of applications in the App Center. Are you sure you want to continue?
As someone who want to use his TS-231P for personal use (File Server and Multimedia Station), I find this message to be worrying. 😅

So. What happens if I disable the Web Server? Is it safe for me to do it?

Thanks a lot! :)

Thanks a lot, dolbyman! So I take it that the warning only applied to more advanced apps that are available in the App Center. ;)

Since I was about to download a mandatory update for the Multimedia Console as well as Music and Video Stations, I wasn't really sure to be frank, because all those apps are in the aforementioned "App Center". 😶
