Hi Everyone,
Just wonder if anyone can answer our query.
We have a MyQNAPClound SSL Certificate installed on our QNAP so accessing our QNAP through MyQNAP Cloud shows as secure and works fine.
A problem arises when logging into our QNAP through our Domain Name which is directed to our Static ISP 7#.##.##.### which automatically opens 7#.##.##.###:8080/cgi-bin/ regardless where in the world you login from. The only problem is this does not show as Secure!
We prefer to log in through our Domain Name / Static ISP as we prefer to share file, folders and documents through them rather than going through QNAPCloud every time but of course the SSL Certificate does not show when going through our Domain Name or Static IP Address
The current QNAPCloud SSL Certificate has 3 years remaining and we would prefer to not have to purchase another SSL Certificate for our Domain and or our Static IP Address but is there a way around this?
We would appreciate your thoughts, expertise, experience on this matter please?
Thanks in anticipation!!

Hi Marrach,
I do not know if this will help or not but I purchased a QNAP SSL Certificate some time ago thinking that I could apply it to my own domain, for example -- www.myname.com. Appearantly the SSL Certificates that you purchase from QNAP are only applicable for your QNAP, meaning that it would only be for xxxxxx.qnapcloud.com where xxxxxx is you qnap account name.

what jdhock mentions also applies to the letsencrypt ssl, which is integrated to qnap and only works for the myqnapcloud dyndns only.

Re: Using a MyQNAPCloud SSL Certificate...
So glad I found this post - wish I'd come here sooner: I've been trying for a few days to get a straight yes or no answer from QNAP whether the myCloud certificates also work outside the my Cloud service. So far all they've been able to do is send links to two different documents, both of which I'd already read and both of which are entirely ambiguous on this simple question. Thanks to these posts I now know the answer - which is what I suspected!
