problem with devcename.myqnapcloud.com

Post by flemche »

Hi,

It seems that I have a problem with my "devcename.myqnapcloud.com".
I have setup the cloudlink and acording to the cloudlink panel everything should be in order.

CloudLink: enabled
Connection status: Normal

I also bought a certificate from QNAP and installed on my NAS.
Certificate status: Active.

I tried to connect to the NAS using but it just keep "waiting for https://devcename.myqnapcloud.com".

I have also enabled a website on the NAS but when I try to access it it comes up with:

This server could not prove that it is www.MySite.dk;
its security certificate is from devcename.myqnapcloud.com.
This may be caused by a misconfiguration or an attacker intercepting your connection.

Any suggestions.
Could it be my firewall and on what port is the traffic coming in ??

I've created a portforwarding on port 80 & 443 which does work.

Thanks
Flemming

Hi Flemming,

For your issue with connecting to the NAS that keeps giving "waiting for https://devcename.myqnapcloud.com", try adding your Secure HTTPS System Port (found in Control Panel > System > General Settings > System Administration) to the end of your myqnapcloud domain (e.g. https://devcename.myqnapcloud.com:PORT). That should direct you to the Secure NAS Web UI login. You need to specify the port now since you enabled the Web Server.

Have you found a fix for your second issue with the Web Server certificate? I'm having the exact same problem as you receiving the message, "This server could not prove that it is www.MySite.com; its security certificate is from devcename.myqnapcloud.com." I also purchased a certificate from QNAP, which gave this connection is not private message, so I tried using a free LetsEncrypt certificate instead and am still receiving the same message. Does the certificate only secure the myqnapcloud domain, and not my hosted websites? I'm sure there's a way around this, but I'm stumped.

Let me know if you figured out a fix. Or if anyone else out there can point us in the right direction.
