Hoping someone can give me some advice on this, have cross posted on the Emby community forums too..

Having major issues when playing back a movie file (MKV w/DTS audio)
Server is on my QNAP TS-453A
Client is Xbox One S Emby app

When playing back a Blu-Ray rip - 1080p MKV w/DTS audio Emby direct streams as expected to remux the audio from DTS > AC3 - but uplink from NAS to Xbox is capped at 2MB/s so basically unwatchable, picture and audio stutters
The same movie file with AC3 audio instead direct plays as expected, uplink from NAS to Xbox is not capped - and averages out at around 6MB/s while playing.

Any ideas?
This only seems to have come to light since my NAS updated to 4.2.3 on 21st January, but I'm struggling to identify where or how to correct this..

I'm having similar issues. I am unable to play mkv files that used to play prior to the update to 3.1.5. I think it may have something to do with transcoding and ffmpeg. It appears the system ffmpeg is not available according to the warning that appears when I change transcoder to system installed version. Using the third party one nothing appears to happen. The log does not have any errors in it. Not sure if anyone else is having a similar issue.

The exact same files play fine in Plex so this has to be something on the Emby side of things.
The DTS audio movie file in Plex direct streams, so video is untouched and audio is remuxed to aac on the fly. Happens almost instantly and playback is flawless.
Average send speed from NAS to Xbox is 9MB/s

I've even tried using the git builds at https://www.johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/ as advised by Luke on the Emby Community forums which - when I was on 3.1.2 made a big difference with another movie file (lower video bitrate with DTS audio) but no dice with my straight rip of the Force Awakens Blu-Ray.

My issue turns out to be a little different than I thought. I am unable to play mkv or mp4 files (which is most of my library). But I can confirm there is conversion since some files are playing at a converted rate. What's interesting is there are no files playing direct stream. Is anyone else seeing this behavior? By the way, I'm using Qapache 2.4.23 an qnap 4.2.3.

im getting this error on TS 453 with following installed

FW 4.2.3
[ Qmono ] [ 4.6.2.7 ] Mono Framework
[ Emby ] [ 3.2.0.0 ] Media server

but whilst starting Emby i get this:

Remove mono x64 and use x86
