That's probably going to be my next step - at least then you can compile sources to make tweaks.

Anyone got any advice as to whether container or virtualisation would be the best option?

QNAP_Stephane, Can you make one with a recent beta version ?
I'd really like to try out some new pyhthon plugins, but this is only supported in beta versions for now.

My Qnap NAS will not get QTS4.3 unfortunately so I cannot use the newer version of the Domoticz package. I assume there will be more owners of older QNAP NAS devices facing this. Can you also rebuild the newest Domoticz package for QTS4.2.x?

If you can run Virtualisation Station on your older NAS you're *MUCH* better off running Domoticz from a lightweight Ubuntu VM on that.

It's a TS-459 Pro, unfortunately no Virtualization Station available for this model.

I am still stuck with version 3.5837 on my TS-459 Pro. Would you please please create a QPKG for QTS4.2?

I made the hgi driver for my ts-669, which should also work on other ts-xx9 devices. The module is attached, put it somewhere on your persistent storage (under /etc/config is good) and load it with insmod using autostart.sh (otherwise it will not be loaded after reboot). I used the latest GPL kernel for my model, uname -a should give version 3.4.6 for this module to work.

Module is loaded ok, but not paired with HGI80. I am still investigated this, but it is a tough one. It should auto-register on ttyUSB1. tbc.

Device is listed with lsusb:

Code: Select all

Bus 009 Device 003: ID 10ac:0102 Honeywell, Inc.
After insmod /etc/config/ti_usb_3410_5052.ko from dmsg:

Code: Select all

[ 7511.916137] usbcore: registered new interface driver ti_usb_3410_5052
[ 7511.916225] USB Serial support registered for TI USB 3410 1 port adapter
[ 7511.916304] USB Serial support registered for TI USB 5052 2 port adapter
[ 7511.916329] ti_usb_3410_5052: v0.10:TI USB 3410/5052 Serial Driver
lsmod:

Code: Select all

ti_usb_3410_5052 21446 0 - Live 0xffffffffa0079000
But device is not attached to module
