I am looking through some Kodi crash logs, and it has the following message:

gdb not installed, can't get stack trace.

Any options to incorporate this in the package, or do we need to symlink to something in HD/QTS?

As I know and based on my own test on
Mykodi 16 or 17 are linked to HD_Station 3.1+ ... NOT from the firmware (HD_Station is a chroot ALREADY running in pure 64 bits Linux)

For now I run :
mykodi16, mykodi17 Beta 6, PlexMediaPlayer 1.1.7 and OpenPHT 0.1.7 without problem under 4.3.2 Public beta
I have also the chance to run a test on a remote (Asia) TVS-x73 ... and (even if I have not tested the sound (and image jerky through Vnc )) all seems to run as well on new AMD series.

BUT as usual this need more users to have a better view (even due to the chroot the risk is very (very) low ... )

Looks promising. I got the Kodi 16 up and running on my HD Station. The PVR DVBLink is installed and configured, but when i try to activate the tv each time Kodi quits. Any idea why or a solution?

Hey there, first of all thx to Father Mande for keeping up his great Support - this saved my NAS´s life since I just bought it for Building my HTPC with kodi.

I managed to install mykodi 2-16.1.1 on my qnap ts-453mini under the Hybrid Station - everything works fine, except for one Thing: I cannot find the menu/tab for the library under Music, Video, Pictures. I only get a tab with "Folders" and then have to navigate to \Multimedia\Music on the NAS HDD-volume every time.

I am a new user & not acquainted with Server Administration under Linux/QTS, so I would appreciate any advice how to get a library installed or set up.

You need to setup "Sources" for your content. So in Video, I have added "Sources" for my TV & Movie Content. In Music, you will need to do the same things to point to your Multimedia/Music folder. Once you have setup the sources, and Kodi has scanned the content, then you will see I think what you are looking for.

Google for KODI 16.x tutorials online, as at this point the majority of everything happening "inside" KODI is basic KODI operation/behavior.

First try a reboot or an HD_Station restart

2 in case of always in error, please, provide the kodi.log

I resolved, I realized, by manually starting kodi who could not find the home directory because it had not been activated and consequently kodi would not start.

Not stupid ... but you are the first (cosmetic question ) ... the "normal" text is : "mykodi16_1_official" (not "mykodi_1_official") ... if not it's an error

To change it (as for ANY HD_Station application) BUT it's return back to "my" default when you update the QPKG

open a console (admin / your_password)
change to QPKG folder
cd $(getcfg mykodi16 install_path -f /etc/config/qpkg.conf)
change to specific folder use by QTV for information ...
cd .qtv
edit the file : qtv.xml (ATTENTION to don't made an error in XML format ... or unpredictable result )
change the line :
<name>mykodi16_1_official</name> (attention some characters can be refuse or generate error ... follow xml rules ... )

Then try first to deactivate mykodi16 then reactivate it ... but perhaps if it's get by QTV at start ... restart HD_Station (the mechanism is only know by QNAP ... so experiment is the only solution if you are not a QNAP team or affiliate member (so easy way for other integrator working also in QNAP))
