Re: [ Home Assistant ] [ 0.36.1 ] Open-source home automation platform
Any news on a possible update?
I'd love to fully run Home-Assist outside container station but currently when installing it, it shows the following error:
So for I'm fairly new to my QNAP system as well as to Home-Assistant so I am stuck at all attempts to fix this. Has anyone else the same problem and was able to fix it? Thanks!

I had the same problem with the discovery module in ha.
It uses the same port (3000) as the NFS-service, after i switched it off ( in controlpanel -> network & file services) my problem with discovery was gone.

Thanks for that hint. I just checked it out but it didn't work. I had NFS disabled (although I need it for my current setup) and restarted Home-Assistant but still the same errors occur. Any other ideas?

Well, running the command indicates that gcc is unavailable. Do I have to install this as well? Should it be a dependancy for the home-assistant package? I presumed the package was complete so I do not need to install other dependancies manually.
Here is the error I'm getting:
I wanted to keep things as small as possible that's why I'm asking. I didn't want to add all kind of dev-tools to the NAS.
Here is the error I'm getting:
Code: Select all
gcc -pthread -Wno-unused-result -Wsign-compare -DNDEBUG -g -fwrapv -O3 -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fPIC -I/opt/Home-Assistant/include -I/opt/Home-Assistant/include/ncurses -fPIC -DNETIFACES_VERSION=0.10.6 -I/opt/Home-Assistant/include/python3.6m -c netifaces.c -o build/temp.linux-x86_64-3.6/netifaces.o
unable to execute 'gcc': No such file or directory

As Stephane states in the first post netdisco (0.5.5) and netifaces (0.10.4) are included so there should'nt be a need to compile it yourself.

Well, than there must be something else wrong with the package since the error remains and the two extensions (discovery and cloud) are still not available.

Any chance Stephane of getting this updated to 0.66 release?

This is an excellent contribution Stephane!
Hopefully we can have this as a live and kicking forum thread for exchange of valuable tips and tricks on how to exploit HA. Even though I'll continue to run HA in docker (CS), and I recommend that over a stand-alone QPKG, issues and advises should still be valid on both platforms.
It is well known that HA is among the most versatile Home automation platforms around, but it's also a fact that it can be quite intimidating for beginners with little or no scripting experience. The component library is extensive, but documentation is often scarce and typically assumes that the reader knows everything before he/she starts experimenting.
As for myself, I'm baffled over the fact that no component exist that can produce a simple push-button icon. All I've been able to find are on/off sliders. Perhaps someone has a simple solution for that that doesn't require customization involving both HTML, Yaml and JSON scripting to get it running?

Can this version of Home Automation support Tuya lamps?
I think this is one:

Re: [ Home Assistant ] [ 0.36.1 ] Open-source home automation platform
Hi,
I haven't used terminal ssh on the qnap for awhile, however, the path to the ,yaml directory is
Home Assistant
0.69.1
Path to configuration.yaml: /share/CE_CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Home-Assistant/CONFIG_DIR
But I can't remember how to edit the configuration.yaml, whats the command?
