I use WinSCP to connect to the console (?) of the NAS. There you can access that directory.
In WinSCP you need to set to show invisible files too.
You can get it here: https://winscp.net/eng/download.php or google for WinSCP.

I always connect to NAS (TS-251) with WinSCP, then i start Putty ans use this:
to set a symlink
to start the update.
I always use this way instead of using the Web Updater on the GUI.
Code: Select all
ln -s /mnt/ext/opt/apache/bin/php /bin/php
Code: Select all
sudo -u httpdusr php -d memory_limit=2G /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/NextCloud/nextcloud/updater/updater.phar
I always use this way instead of using the Web Updater on the GUI.

Re: [ NextCloud ] [ 20.0.1.0] OwnCloud Fork
Would like to do it via the GUI but it is not working! So I wonder if you could just install the ne package from qnap Club? But I am not sure if that maybe deletes my data and setting. The second thing is do I need a new Apache version? Since it mentions on the GUI you need at least 7.4 I think.WeT-Klb wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 10:13 pm I always connect to NAS (TS-251) with WinSCP, then i start Putty ans use this:

Re: [ NextCloud ] [ 20.0.1.0] OwnCloud Fork
Hard to say - on my TS-251 there´s the native PHP 7.3.7 - and i´m not told it would need 7.4.
Only after my latest update of Nextcloud to 20.0.5 i was told the coming Nextcloud needs MariaDB 10.2. or higher.
In the moment i´m only running the 5.2.
Btw - somewhere i read the update with the GUI updater only works after once the symlink was set manually (first code line in post above).

Interesting, I have a TS-251D too. How did you initially set up your nextclod ? Did you use the package from qnap club as I did? https://qnapclub.eu/de/qpkg/348
I would try the method from your first post. How did you set up MariaDB? Is it running on the same system or do you have a dedicated machine for that?
Maybe you could hand me the guide you used to set up your nextcloud ?!
Thanks again for your help.

Okay I see! How about the dependencies? Like MariaDB - Apache - PHP and so on? Did you update them manually too? And did you integrated the MariaDB manually in nextcloud?
Sorry for the many questions but since all my data is stored on the NAS I am very careful. Thanks again

Re: [ NextCloud ] [ 20.0.1.0] OwnCloud Fork
I used the universal QPKG - thisone only depends on the files already existing on the NAS.
But for future: The coming Nextcloud 21 will need MariaDB 10.2 or higher - in the moment the included MariaDB on the NAS only has 5.7.3 i think.
It means in the moment you can´t use Nextcloud 21 with the native servers in NAS.
As i only need a way to share my calendar i use Nextcloud 20.5.0 and Baikal parallel.

[ NextCloud ] [ 11.0.3.0] OwnCloud Fork
Hello, i need some help. I installed Nextcloud through the universal 11.0.3-qpkg and it worked like a charme up until the 20.0.5.0 now.
But now unfortunately i lost my installpackage. Can anybody pass the 11-0-3-universal-package for TS-251 (x64) to me again?
I am looking for that one not needing any QApache or so on.
I would be happy to get that package.
Yours
Werner

Re: [ NextCloud ] [ 20.0.1.0] OwnCloud Fork
For anyone that wants to use the latest NextCloud (v20.0.5), I just got through the setup on my old TS-869Pro with 4.3.3 firmware.
It's doable but painful, and you need to know a bit about Linux to make it work.
I turned off the built-in Web Server and MariaDB, and replaced them with newer versions from Entware first.
Here are the guides that helped me get it done.
1. Install the latest MariaDB
https://hqt.ro/how-to-install-mariadb-s ... n-entware/
2. Install LightHttpd for your web server
https://hqt.ro/lighttpd-web-server-with ... ntware-ng/
3. Install NextCloud
https://hqt.ro/nextcloud-through-lighttpd-entware/
These are loose guides on how to do this. I had to monkey with the configuration for LightHttpd and NextCloud, I can post it if anyone wants it.
