raidforsaving wrote: Yes, a line that starts with a # symbol is simply commented out, which means it is not doing anything. For example you could write:

Code: Select all

# This says anything I want because it has no impact

This line however is a problem since it lacks the pound/hash symbol at the left side.
So when I tell you to comment a line out with a #, that is the reason for entering that character.
Thanks.

Your directions are very good. I have to read all the posts, again and again, to understand your simple commands because this thread is getting a mess.

i have followed your instructions for ssl certificate and for https setup

but i still get the message your accessing through Http, but i think you have posted saying that is normal when you are accessing through your own network.

so to test this i have to set up my own domain and access it through a browser to see if everything is ok, isn´t that right?

thank you very much for helping.

I've installed NextCloud and it seems to work so far with MariaDB.
I want NextCloud especially for LibreOffice.

I installed and activated Collabora Online 1.1.25. But whenever I open the test odt file I get the message Access Denied in NextCloud.

I have no idea what I can change, because that's the first time I use NextCloud.

Yes i do.

I have used no ip service... i put that adress, i opened port forwarding on router for that door, then i also configures dns on my router. and i can access with and web adress and that door/port... a friend just posted a picture to configure the router to use dns. They also said i could change to port 80 or something to just use https:somenthing.net without the :45083.

but one thing they said is that the ssl certificate is self signed... so you get on the browser the message that is unsafe. can´t understand... but someone mentioned something about ssl certificate and having same issue and that wanted to change the ssl cecrtificate in some previous post.

i now can use the android client.

Same thing happened to me. But now I have other issues with my NAS, so can't help.

Try over in the Qapache thread.

Hola to All!

I don't have a lot experience with this stuff, so need to post a question about this package's applicability to my needs.

I have a fairly large image, music, and document library in multiple sub-folders that is backed up on my TS-251 that I need to make available to others via a web server.

I need to have individual username and password security for access, and detailed logging of individual connection and activity (including file download activities). I don't have any need of users uploading to the system, only viewing folder contents and downloading. While viewing or listening to content online is nice, it is not necessary.

So is this the right package to do that?

Thanks in advance!
