TS-X32U will work
Thank you, I don't know why it won't install the first time I tried it but it works now.

For some reason this version changed the port to 6363. It was 6564 before. And even if you change it to 6564 in settings it will revert back to 6363 after reboot. It is very annoying, but I just updated the other applications to refer to the new port rather than fighting it.

Dears,

I installed Qbittorrent in my TS-231 via QNAP.eu repo but i cannot open the webUI, everytime I click on the open in the QNAP QT it opens a new tab in web browser trying to access port 6363 but nothing is opened.... anything I am doing wrong?

Edit: I actually cannot see the process running, I ran it manually and now I can open the webUI, how to make sure the process is started automatically when I click on the start button in QT?

It seems I cannot connect to port 6363. I see that process is running , but with 0 cpu usage and RAM. What is folder structure of your installation? I Think I'm missing some installed files.

4.2.1 - i get a list of Search plugins
4.2.2 and above the Search plugins function does not work.

Update:

I SSH onto the qnap to have a look through the folders where qbittorrent is installed. I read on some other thread about the different versions on Python so checked the nova and nova3 folders. The nova3 folder had less files, so i decided to copy them from the other folder as a test.

I made a back up of /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/qBittorrent/.local/share/data/qBittorrent/nova3/ and the /engines sub folder.

I then copied the files from /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/qBittorrent/.local/share/data/qBittorrent/nova/ to /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/qBittorrent/.local/share/data/qBittorrent/nova3/ (including the /engines sub folder)

I then restarted qbittorrent from the qnap app centre. It then gave me the list of search plugins and add ones via the other button. I also did this after updating to 4.2.5 to ensure latest files.

nb. I haven't tested that this doesn't cause any other issues or whether I should have only copied certain files but it does seem to work for now.
THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH :P ! I've been able to fix my search engines following your instructions (even if automatic engine updates doesn't work, but I've noticed that in the windows application is the same).

After installation I get only to files installed. qBittorrent.sh and qbittorrent-nox. I tink its not ok?

Hey guys did you ever solve this? I am stumped and I am sure it is a silly solution. I have QBittorrent v.4.2.5 on a TS-431P. It is installed but when I select it, the IP address does not connect.

In reading the thread, it seems that the process itself isn't starting. Which would make sense I guess. If the process doesn't start, how could you access it? So I reviewed my processes and sure enough it isn't running either. I've tried rebooting hoping it would fix it and it didn't. I've cleared cache and cookies, also tried a couple different browsers if that is the issue.

Anyone have suggestions?

Update, so I tried downgrading to 4.2.3 and 3.3.16 and still the same. I am installing it as administrator..... so not sure what is up.

I've SSH'd in and it appears to be on boot in "lrwxrwxrwx 1 admin administ 54 Jun 8 17:06 QBittorrent.sh -> /shar e/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/QBittorrent/QBittorrent.sh*"

Additionally I can see the config command in:
# /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/QBittorrent/.config/qBittorrent/qBittorrent.conf

Still can't get it to respond though

I have the exact same problem with the webUI for months now currently with the v.4.2.5 on a TS-231P

Every time check the wedUI is down like it has some sort of timeout. The only way to bring it up is to restart the app from the AppCenter. Help!

Hi there,
I have a TS-431 series NAS (not sure the exact version, should be Ts-431+ or TS-431P2, on the box it just says TS-431), an arm version, with the 4.3.6 firmware:

# head -n6 /etc/config/uLinux.conf
[System]
Model = TS-X31
Internal Model = TS-X31
Server Comment = NAS Server
Version = 4.3.6
Build Number = 20200608

# uname -m
armv7l

First problem, I cannot download directly from the repo in the QNAP interface, I have to manually download and install the application: not a big deal, but maybe it's relevant.

Second problem, UPnP does not work properly. I enabled IPv6 on the NAS, but when I launch the application ports stay closed and it's impossible to send or receive data. I don't know if it's a problem of my router or of the application. I fixed that going to Options>Advanced and settings "Optional IP Address to bind to" to the IPv4 address of the NAS: after that ports are automatically opened on the router. Transmission can open the ports without any issue.

The major problem is the following: if I use an android app to connect to qBittorrent, the application crashes. If I'm logged in the web interface - as soon as I launch the android application on my phone - the message "qBittorrent client is unreachable" appears on the bottom of the page and the application is unresponsive (e.g. if I launch a recheck of a torrent, it does not start). Qboost says that the application is still running, but it isn't and I have to stop an start it again to get it running.

I have tried the following android app:
-qBittorrent Controller pro: qBittorrent on the QNAP crashes as soon as I launch the android app.
-Transdrone: qBittorrent on the QNAP crashes as soon as I launch the android app.
-Transdroid: I can see the list of the torrents, but when I tap on one of them to see details, qBittorrent on the QNAP crashes.

Bye,
gio

Has anybody else noticed problems with qbittorrent that have started recently? I have used 4.2.5 for several months without any issues at all. Now qbittorrent-nox segfaults regularly and is not able to complete any downloads anymore. I suppose it has to do with an update to my NAS.

Code: Select all

This seems to have started happening since the last NAS firmware update.

Is anyone able to help?

I am also having the issues of qbittorrent crashing since the last qnap update. I tried going back one firmware and it didn't seem to help at all. I might try uninstalling qbittorrent and then going back a bit further on the firmware and then reinstalling. I have the exact same errors in the logs as the previous folks reporting recent crashing

*EDIT* Confirmed going back to an older firmware after uninstalling qbittorrent and then reinstalling does fix this issue. I probably went back further than needed by going back to the July firmware but I didn't feel like trying several to find one old enough. I don't think this is a bug with this build for qnap, it is likely a bug/incompatibility between the app itself and the newer qnap firmware/s.

*EDIT 2* Crap, actually it isn't fixed. I was able to download a couple files, something I haven't been able to do in weeks, but it still crashed with the same error in the logs after 10 minutes. Now I'm really out of ideas if it isn't fixed by going back to a firmware when it worked before and the app hasn't been updated since April so it's not any new bug in the app.
