How do I actually download a container? I'm completely new to this and I can't figure out how to grab a container from hub.docker.com
Specifically https://hub.docker.com/r/binhex/arch-deluge/

Okay, I think I'm missing something simple here, especially with an app that "is meant to be as simple to deploy as it is to use". I downloaded your zip, extracted the qpkg file, opened the QNAP WebUI, opened App Center, and manually installed your .qpkg. It put a link on the desktop. When I click it and it says "Secure connections (https://) are not supported for this application. Are you sure you want to open it?". If I click yes, it opens http://[LANIP]:9123/ in a browser with a list of links that say this:

Code: Select all

IPSEC
bin/
dev/
etc/
flashfs_tmp/
hd_root_tmp
home/
lib/
lib64
linuxrc
lost+found/
mnt/
new_root/
opt/
php.ini
proc/
root/
rpc/
run/
sbin/
share/
sys/
tmp/
usr/
var/

Stephane might be trying to fix the bug via that post. Try the new version to see if it fixes your problem. Stephane outputs an insane amount of packages, so I imagine there is very little time for him to outline a change log every single time. If it's still not working with the latest update, I'm sure Stephane is watching here and will push another update when he can.

I need to get this running soon, so I'll be messing with this package later in the week and will report back if any troubleshooting gets me to a working solution.

I have a general question: when managing containers through Portainer, would a general compatibility with Container Station be retained? They can co-exist? Would I still see containers appear in Container Station if I made them with Portainer?

1.15.2 qpkg found here is working. Must have fixed the problem for me:
https://www.qnapclub.eu/provider.php/qp ... 86_64.qpkg

Edit: The app is running, but I assumed the dockers I have in container station would show up in Portainer, but they do not.

I think you have to set up a new Endpoint for Portainer to see your Docker install on the server. Again this is just a guess before I have gotten into using the app.

I think you're right, but I'm having trouble setting the endpoint. If I go in container station --> preferences --> Docker Certificate, under "Set Environment" I see:
$ export DOCKER_HOST=tcp://[LANIP]:2376 DOCKER_TLS_VERIFY=1
So I'm assuming 2376 is the port I want to set, but I cannot figure out how to get Portainer to connect to this endpoint. I have tried all combinations with the local LAN IP address, 127.0.0.1, 0.0.0.0, the internal virtual switch IP, etc.

I finally figured this out myself. You need to SSH into the QNAP and run that command. After that, your endpoint in portainer is [your IP]:2376, toggle the TLS settings, and them import each for the three files from the cert.zip it shares. Running the command in SSH is what enabled me to connect to the endpoint.

Where do you get the cert.zip with the 3 TLS files?

There is a download cert button in container station --> preferences --> Docker Certificate.
