Re: [ Ubiquiti UniFi ] [ 5.14.23.0 ] Wi-Fi Management
Hi. I have the unifi qpkg installed and working just fine on my qnap. I've never updated it though and feel it's about time, it's been running for a few months now.
If someone could advise about the update process I'd be very grateful.
Is it as easy as:
1. Take a backup of the configuration.
2. Delete the unifi qpkg from the app center.
3. Download and install the latest version in app center.
4. Not configure as a new controller but instead restore from the backup taken earlier.
Would this work? Would my old controller just be replaced or will I still see it for example in the controller list in the android app? Asking because I used to have the controller on Google cloud and when migrating that controller is still visible and greyed out. Annoying since it doesn't exist, that old cloud install was totally wiped....

Oh, really? So installing the latest unifi qpkg will just update the controller and automatically keep all the settings?
Well as long as i have a backup, nothing can break that can't be fixed i guess...

Re: [ Ubiquiti UniFi ] [ 5.14.23.0 ] Wi-Fi Management
Ok, so for others wondering the same, I upgraded the controller just now.
Went into App Center/Qnap Club and the UNifi app said it had an update. Clicked the update button and the first 3 times Qnap told me it couldnt fetch the file. ¤th time it did. Took a while, at least 20 minutes but all is well. I now have the latest Controller version and all the settings in my network are still there... Easier than expected.

Hey Stephane!
Appreciate the work you do with these. Really great!
May i ask, i was a little surprised that I was able to update directly from app center, is this something new? I'm sure I've read somewhere that you had to take a backup, delete the old, install the new and use the backup for new setup?
Another thing everyone here need to know is that this 6 version of the controller has some issues. It's a big overhaul of how things work and some people got some serious issues on their wifi after installing this version. Read about it at the ubiquiti forum....

Re: [ Ubiquiti UniFi ] [ 6.0.22.0 ] Wi-Fi Management
Hi,
Any idea why I get "connection refused" since a couple of builds back?
It's trying to connect on port 38193 as i believe it should.
Running 4.4.3.1421 on an 853A with JDK 1.8.241.1
Thanks.

Re: [ Ubiquiti UniFi ] [ 6.0.22.0 ] Wi-Fi Management
Hmm...
The last one I can get working is Unifi_5.13.32.0_x86_64
And upgrading from this to Unifi_6.0.22.0_x86_64 seems to work.
Standalone installation of ex. Unifi_6.0.22.0_x86_64 results in the connection refused scenario.
Update:
After some days, it's back to connection refused again... :/

Re: [ Ubiquiti UniFi ] [ 5.13.32.0 ] Wi-Fi Management
for initial setup, go to advance, tick the local account, then enter credentials to set that up, it allowed me to then procede to the next page.DRuw wrote: ↑Fri Jul 10, 2020 2:34 pm Ok, Im stuck. Im quite a noob on this but here is my situation. I had a 439proII+ and all worked well with an old version (5.10.something).
Since the unit was getting older, I decided to go for the newly released 453D..... and forgot to backup my unifi config...
For some reason now, I can't get the controller set up.
Over tried the package via Qnapclub and also the container version.
qnapclub gives the incorrect port (what is the correct one??)
the container version, I do get into the setup but when I put all my data in it doesn't configure and indicates incorrect user/password. Im 100% sure its the correct one (also changed it a couple of times) so I don't get the issue...
can anyone help?
