Posting in this topic is the best way to do that. @QNAP_Stephane is the package maintainer. ;)

Wait for the 2.6.4 QPKG to be posted on qnapclub or manually point the files in /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/Tautulli/bin to your python3 install location.

Do you really need 2.6.4 right now?

Hi @jaysona, I've merged the other topic into this one, as this topic is easier for the package maintainer to monitor. ;)

Actually, it looks like 2.6.4 has already been posted to qnapclub.
https://qnapclub.eu/fr/qpkg/model/downl ... 86_64.qpkg

However, at the moment the qnapclub web server is barfing up a 500 error. :'

I installed the new 2.6.4 from the QNAP Club Store and after install was still prompted to update as it's pointing to Python 2. It says 2.6.3 in the Tautulli help screen even though I installed the 2.6.4 package. Definitely not urgent and I can wait. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers and was just asking. If I can do something on my own end I happily will. Maybe I'll try the above about pointing the files in the /bin location to the other version of Python. If it will happen on it's own eventually then I can wait until that happens, no urgency here.

MartyIU13 wrote: Tue Dec 22, 2020 3:46 am Hi. Love Tautulli! I saw recently that version 2.6.3 will be the last to use Python 2 and will need to use Python 3 going forward after that. Does anyone know of a way to point Tautulli installed as an app on a QNAP NAS to a different version of Python? I think it has be done on the QNAP package end, but maybe I'm wrong and it can be done on my end. Is there any way to get in touch with the developer of the QNAP package to ask about it? I'd be glad to donate and see where I can do that on the page for it on the QNAP Club Store, but the area to contact the developer doesn't work for me on that page.

I’m in the same boat. Let me know as well

So, it looks like the new 2.6.4 qpkg on qnapclub was packaged with python 2.7 instead of python 3.

Only alternative at the moment appears to be manually point the python symlinks to the python 3 location.

Maybe the packager will update the package to make it work correctly. Fingers crossed.

So how do you manually point the files to the python3 install location?

Create a symbolic link to wherever python 3 is installed. If you look at the files in directory, you will see that python and python-config are just symlinks to the python2.7 files.

Is anyone else seeing Security Counsellor killing off PlexPy/Tautulli (2.6.4) because its not signed ?
I tried altering the settings of SC, unchecking the "Do all installed applications have valid digital signatures" but it still killed it today.

(QTS: 4.5.1.1495)

Code: Select all

Error	2020-12-30	16:52:24	System	127.0.0.1	App Center	App Installation	[App Center] PlexPy has an invalid digital signature. The app has stopped and cannot be installed on QTS. You can remove it in the App Center.

After some testing, I don't think its Security Counsellor killing the process.. I think it might be a setting in QNAPs AppCenter instead "Allow installations of applications without a valid digitate signature".. I tried turning off SC for a while but it didn't help (it just got turned back on by QNAP, then I tried disabling Security Checkup but the PlexPy app still got stopped by AppCenter.

I'm also having the same issue with Tautulli picking up the wrong python version.

I've just done the symlink for now which has worked.

Hopefully Stephane can resolve soon.
