I need an app to regularly test if an adapter is connect to the Internet

Post by NappingHippo »

I am using 3 network adapters on my QNAP
One is strictly for my LAN
One has normal Internet access
One is connected to a hardware VPN router.

The adapter having access via the VPN router is unstable.
Not the adapter but the 3rd party VPN service I use.

I need to be notified when the Internet connection through VPN fails.

Any advice on how to achieve this?

on pfsense router, there is an app called watch dog. it can monitor whether apps and services went down at any point of time and send an alert to the admin.
