Azure Storage app not working

Post by aplane »

Hello everyone,

I have installed the Azure Storage app on a TS-269L and went to set up the account and I'm getting the following message: "Cloud storage authentication failed". I have tried ticking/unticking SSL, regenerating access keys, creating multiple storage accounts in Azure but it's still not working. I then decided to look at the application logs and I can see the following error: WindowsAzureError: Unknown error (The value for one of the HTTP headers is not in the correct format.) that occurs when trying to connect. The following log entry might also help to resolve this issue:

2015-10-15 15:46:15,404 PID:13346 commandmgr.py:231 cgi DEBUG CGI= {
"account_class_name": "AzureAccount",
"display_name": "Azure Backup",
"region_name": "global",
"REMOTE_ADDR": "",
"connector_class_name": "AzureConnector",
"cmd": "test_account",
"id": "",
"azure_account": "qnap",
"is_secure": true,
"azure_key": "keydeleteforsecuritypurposes"
}

From the above log, the remote address and the id fields are both empty. Shouldn't the ID field contain a GUID?

Can anyone please shed some light on this problem?

Thanks.

Hi,

The current Azure Storage QPKG cannot work for Azure storage account with "Zone-Redundant". There will be an updated QPKG to fix this issue.

Thank you for your patient.

Simply put the QNAP will support "Azure Storage Accounts" not "Backup Vaults" which is what used by Azure Backup that's installed on Server system.

Simply Login to your Azure account and go to "Data Services" -> "Storage" -> the create a storage account with a URL name that's unique.
Select the location to store the file storage account and replication type if any at all, taking into account of Paul's comment with Zone Redundancy.

I just did an install of this just a few days ago, so know the current Storage Accounts work and Local Redundancy used.
