QuDedupe Extractor and Azure

Post by FLS_Nick_Mahlitz »

Ok so using Hybrid Backup Sync to Azure I can backup my data on my QNAP and restore fine.

But the blurb of QuDedupe Extractor Tool says you can manually extract from backups that use QuDedupe from backup locations including Cloud.

Thus my question is how do you do that for Azure?

Because QuDedupe creates a .qdff folder with a specified folder structure and file chunks.

In the Azure Portal from Blob Containers there are no folders because folders are only metadata and therefore to use the QuDedupe Extractor Tool on your Windows device and point to the .qdff folder in Azure will require you to download file by file the contents in Blob Storage and there can be many of these.

This is not practical. Thus, if I lost my QNAP I have no way to manually extract data without having another QNAP and use HBS to get the data restored.

That defeats the point of the QuDedupe Extractor Tool
