Encryption of Filename

Post by sternchen0815 »

Hi,
is it possible to encrypt the filenames too, or is it only possible to encrypt the content?

best regards

Hi, for now, the filenames are kept for your convenience to let you recognize the files and folders structure such that you can restore the data without the must to use CloudBackup QPKGs. But we could add an option in the encryption settings in the future. Thanks for your input.

Hi,

I know it's a very old post, but it's also a very current issue for me. I tried a lot of tricks and Apps to create a backup with encrypted file- and foldernames. Unfortunately nothing worked or was just to slow. Is there any change, that in in the near future the option to encrypt file- and foldernames will be added?

Best regards

Hi,

Anything new on this front? I too would like to encrypt file and folder names when performing a backup using QNAP Hybrid Backup Sync but couldn't find an option to do this.
