Maximum file size for scanning

Post by NAS_hans »

Hi,

TS-253A with QTS 4.3.3 and McAfee antivirus latest version.

QNAP manual says maximum file size for scanning is 4096 MB

However McAfee scan jobs only accept 2048 MB. When I select 2049 MB or higher, the field becomes red and changes are not accepted.

But it gets worse. After I set 2048 MB and then run the job, the max file size is always reset to 512 MB. For this reason, it basically does nothing in directories where only large files exist. Useless.

Has anybody encountered this issue, and found a solution?

Thanks

Old post/thread but still relevant today as I came across this myself last night. With the file sizes of the 21st Century getting more and more large this size limitation is decades out of date and needs updating immediately as a security priority.
