[SOLVED] Connect to Google Cloud Storage with SSL?

Post by Daxon »

Google Cloud Storage recommends using TLS when transferring data to their cloud storage, however when I go to setup the profile in Hybrid backup Sync, there is no option that I can see to enable it. Whereas on some of the other providers, Amazon S3 for example, when you setup the profile you can select SSL.

Does this mean its on by default? or that's its off and can't be used?

Thanks

I raised a ticket with QNAP technical support and this is the response I got.

"when you chose google cloud storage , nas will use TLS as default, so there won't be an option in GUI page ."

This is backed up by information I found here:

QNAP QTS ENABLES POWERFUL AND SECURE CLOUD BACKUP

QNAP QTS Cloud Backup Station supports the following features:

Manual and scheduled backup/restore with flexible options
Full and incremental backup
Flexible file filtering using type, date, and size
SSL transfer encryption and client-side AES-256 encryption
