Is one of those two more reliable to synchronize files with your QNAP device?

Yes it is fine, You can use Google cloud storage for qnap, There are many users that use that, So, I don't think that you will face any kind of problem with it.

Unless you are running an 859 Pro+ with FW 4.2.6 ... This is my configuration, and the app panic's the kernel and it crashes every time it runs.
