TS-831X SFP Problems

Post by DaRouv »

Hi everybody,
we've got a problem to connect the NAS via 10Gbit SFP port and DirectAttach-Cable to the network. In Controlpanel it's also shown as disconnected.

I thought, we found the problem in the logfiles. Is there some documentation for the hal_app or does somebody know, what errorcode 255 of --se_sys_set_sfp_params means? I didn't find anything about it.

Below the logfiles err.log and main.log

Thank you,
Rouven

What firmware? What switch? Which compatible SFP+ modules are you using? Try reversing polarity on the cable?

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

Firmware: we tried 4.3.3.0262 build 20170727 and 4.3.3.0238 build 20170703
Switch: Netgear ProSafe XS716T. It has two SFP-slots.
With the SFP+-module i'm not sure. Here is a link to the cables we use: http://www.delock.de/produkte/G_86222/m ... anguage=en

Hi DaRouv,
Can you connect the TS-831X two SFP+ ports with the DAC cable to see if the SFP+ LAN green LED light becomes steady green (link up)?

I'm seeing the same problem with TS-831XU connecting to netgear XS716T, with netgear AXC761 cable. Will AXM761 going to work?
