Hi there
We are having issues with a fairly new qnap nas - ts-431u
something has disrupted its network connectivity in a strange way
its been running fine for over a month... then pop ... could not get to it... easily
we are only able to get to it on the same subnet - so we can view the web console and ssh to it
when I ssh in -
route settings look fine...
a ping from the device to anything gets no response 100% packet loss
the gateway is correct
the addressing is correct.
I have been assured that no changes have been made on the network.
I checked the logs and it seemed to happen close to a firmware update.
I decided to factory reset the settings on it.
Picked it up via dhcp - and still the same broken networking
I just tried to browse the network share it has setup on it from the same subnet from a windows box
got an error:
this account is not authorised to log in from this station
very confusing.
The device is in a datacentre so its not an easy one to get my hands on. If anyone has any good tips it would be really useful as it might save me a long trip!
Somehow somewhere a default setting has broken or a core part of the networking on the device is messed.
again - thanks for any help you can offer.

are you using a domain or workgroup for access?
does the nas share have the same account (username/pwd)as the Windows PC account? did someone change the password on the PC?

Re: Connectivity issues with ts-431u - help!
I am experiencing same issue with users in a different network being unable to access it. Not working either from browser (https://) nor mapping the drive in Windows PCs. Ping Works. QNAP Security is setup to allow any network, anyone to access it. No rules to block the traffic on the firewalls. Obviosly, other systems on same network as QNAP are accesible from PCs on remote networks. A complete mistery.
We activated the QNAP logs and there is no evidence of any attempt to access the box.
