Anyone care to elaborate or provide other feedback...?
I'm not real sure they have understood, or possibly just missed the point I'm trying to make here?
Thank you for contacting QNAP.
The apps shown are not QNAP apps, and are likely Malware. If you do not know the source of the apps, please remove them by clicking on the drop down under the apps and select remove. "MyQNAPCloud" app in the screenshot is a known Malware and should be removed.
It is also recommended to install Malware Remover v2.2.1, and if there are Malware picked up, it is best to change the passwords for all users on the NAS.

What did you ask them?
Is it possible that you have mallware? have you forwarded ports to the nas?
Is the admin pass an easy one?

Hi,
Nothing found about it on the internet. These two pirate-packages came out of the blue.
I have my doubts about the reliability, but that is a personall opinion.
Could be the fact that upgrading to the latest firmware will upgrade to x64 architecture from x86 and that some QPKG's are not x64 compatible so they are "dead" on the new firmware?
Qnap NAS: HS-251+ OS Ver. 5.0.1.2277 | HD: 2x WD40EFRX | RAID: 1 | Used OS: Windows 10 x64 Qnap NAS: TS-251-4GB OS Ver. 5.0.1.2277 | HD: 1x WD40EFRX | RAID: 0 | Used OS: Windows 10 x64
I had two of them also. I have removed them. One was named ssmtp, the other I have forgotten already. Some version number.... I have malware app installed and it runs regularily.
I often get attempt from 95.xxx.xxx.xxx to logon to my admin id. I keep blocking them (forever)
